VISION OF BICU SCHOLARS FORUM

BICU Scholars Forum is a think-tank of Biblical scholars that fosters research presentations on a wide spectrum of biblical and theological topics so as to enhance positive paradigm shifts in the lives of people and organizations. 

 MISSION OF BICU

BICU Scholars Forum will meet at least once per month and engage scholars from different religious perspectives on a wide range of Biblical topics. These engagements will be disseminated so as to stimulate the positive theological and spiritual development of humanity.

 OBJECTIVES: The objectives of this think tank are to:

1.     Ventilate biblical and theological topics in a manner that demonstrates their impact on practical daily life

2.     Bridge the gap between the academy and the pew where complex biblical and theological subjects are concerned

3.     Provide a forum of choice where persons can listen to and discuss complex Biblical and theological topics

4.     Discuss Biblical topics in a manner that stimulates further research in these topics

5.     Foster critical thinking in the discipline of Biblical studies

6.     Brand BICU as a university that fosters Biblical scholarship

 METHODOLOGY

1.     At least one scholarly presentation each month (the topic to be determined by the committee).

2.     Presentations will take the form of interviews, PowerPoint presentations, readings of scholarly papers, panel discussions, and debates

3.     The presentations, although of a scholarly nature, will be done in a manner that the general public can appreciate

4.     Meetings will be promoted regularly.

 

VENUE/MODALITY

1.     The presentations will be done live or delayed recordings on the BICU online platform (Zoom, Facebook platform, etc.)

GOVERNANCE  

The BICU forum will be led by an executive committee consisting of a President, Vice President, and  Executive Secretary

            Role of President:

a)     Responsible for chairing or designating persons to chair the monthly scholarly presentations

b)     Chief coordinating personnel for the forum

c)     The President shall serve for a two-year term with subsequent opportunities for service, but not consecutively.

d)     Report to BICU President

Role of Vice President:

a)     Assist the President in the administration of the forum

b)     Make contact with potential presenters for the forum

c)     Other duties as assigned by the President

Executive Secretary:

1.     Take the minutes of the activities of the forum

2.     Custodian for the minutes & recordings of the forum

3.     Other duties as may be assigned by the President
